Actually 5 if you count the goalie that just joined recently. All impact players. Three are US Training Camp Invites. Get your popcorn and enjoy the show.

I heard a couple more 04 SC Del Sol DA players are leaving for the ECNL clubs in the next few weeks.

Wow.. that is crazy. I have never seen an elite team self destruct like that.

It depends on who you ask. If you ask the kids that moved over they think it is great. If you are one of the kids who lost a starting spot or maybe a spot on the team they think the idea is terrible.

The greater point is to remember the following:
    - clubs are happy to demote players if they think the replacement is an upgrade
    - just because you have been there for years doesn't really make a difference to most clubs
    - they market off their top teams doing well in the various leagues be it APL, ECNL or DA.

    Well Said!
  13. It is competitive soccer. If clubs are holding tryouts, I would hope they would select the “best” players to form a competitive team. I find the rational of “loyalty” to a player at the competitive level ridiculous (especially U14 and up). Why bother with tryouts? Internships, jobs, entrance in to college, etc. are all competitive. That is life. That is why there are multiple teams within a club, multiple clubs within a city, and leagues within a region. I would want to give the message to my child, if it is something that is important to you and that is your goal to make a top team, then work harder, train harder, play harder to earn that spot next time.

In theory I agree with you, but there is politics, favoritism, nepotism etc. The best players don't always land on the best teams because of it. That is life though. You just keep moving on. Coaches are a factor as well. One coach can be in love with a player and a different coach could feel the total opposite. Finding the right fit is a challenge.
  15. Chemistry too. A team of good players that have played together for a few seasons and know each other is an asset in and of itself.

That's only true if they are talented players. Port Of Sub is full of teams that have played together for years.
  17. Ya think?

    ECNL games starting back up!
    PRFC 07b vs Arsenal

PRFC won 6-3. It was a close game for most of it. PRFC finished strong and outside mids were too much for them. Usually is a good battle between these two teams.

Rising 08 ECNL beat Arsenal 2-0. The past two matches between them this year were ties.
