It will be interesting to see where she lands. What team at Rising would have a high caliber of talent for her to play on?

PT’s 00/01 ECNL team has decent number of juniors this year. Next year that team would be 01/02 and should be a fairly strong team she could play on.

It would be a mistake for her to leave IMO. From what i have seen and been told by several college coach's the level of the DA is higher and most likely she would be playing up at SCDS. I'm not trying to bash any team but I don't know how that 01/02 team that your talking about is going to be any good next year they have 5 girls held over from the 01's and the 02's haven't won a game in league

I would agree. None of the older ECNL teams at Rising are very good this year. The U16, U17 and U19 teams COMBINED have won 3 games in league play.

Maggie is already playing up at del Sol.

And as you say, the level of play is higher in DA vs ECNL when you compare teams in the SW division of each league.

So why on earth would she leave better teams and a better league to play on what are currently very weak Rising ECNL teams (U16 and above).?

She is gone and rationale will most likely be around wanting to play high school. Minimum 4 - 04's have their bags packed waiting to see if KC gets the 04's at Rising. And from what I hear, they are all impact players.

I just don't see her leaving DA. I don't think a lot of starters from del Sol or RSL would leave either.

By and large the only DA players leaving this year are going to be those who are not starters and want to play more.

KC is no dummy. If she moves her daughter to ECNL it will not be to her detriment.

She certainly is no dummy. That is why I speculate she will keep her daughter in the system that provides the most opportunities for national camps, and offers the highest level of competition.

I would be more surprised if she stayed. She will get plenty of competition in ECNL (Blues and Slammers both are ECNL strong), will most likely play up, practice with boys, get to play high school, etcetera. Actually, she first and originally was identified by the national staff when she played for Blackhawks. She's in the pool and will be tracked regardless of where she plays.

Overall you are wrong, DA is the strongest league. Are there examples where teams not in the DA can beat DA teams, yes. Scouts go to both ECNL and DA because they are the top 2 leagues in the country, which is starting to hurt the scouting in the other leagues. If you don't believe me go watch games from both leagues and see which one passes the eye test and then talk to college coach's, they will all tell you that the DA is 1, ECNL 2. I have no love for the DA, i much prefer the ECNL model but right now DA is the top. Let's see if there is any shake up with more top clubs leaving the DA, similar to what happened after the first year.

With coaching staff at rsl... They will always struggle with DA. DS is terrible...amazed he is even listed. He killed the ecnl team when he joined and I know several people who were so happy when he left BH.

DA is the highest level in So Cal/AZ by far. There are the occasional ECNL teams in various age groups that are pretty good.

Rising 04 ECNL is pretty average overall with only a few girls who actually can handle the ball well. I have watched a few of their games. I have also watched a fair share of DA games at the 04 level as well. Some games I have watched back to ECNL and then watch a DA game. The difference in skill level is quite noticeable.

In terms of the DPL team at the 04 level. Yes in a scrimmage early on they beat the 04 and 03 DA. They however are nowhere close to the skill level you see on the 04 DA team. Again the DPL issue is quite a few girls have trouble with their first touches and like to play kickball.

Realistically the 04 RSL DPL and 04 Arsenal and 04 Rising are all pretty close skill level wise.

Don't get me wrong, I have always been a big fan of ECNL, but in the SW divisions the better players/clubs are in the DA

Let me guess. You were a Sereno parent who initially was given an offer from Brian. When Shank came in he brought in better players and rescinded your kids offer.

Sereno had ECNL problems because they didn't recruit well and mainly created teams from Sereno players. Which is why their ECNL teams for the most part were terrible.

I also am not sure how they are struggling with the DA. Currently in u15 they are above del Sol. Same with u16/17. In the 18/19 del Sol has an amazing team.

The staff they have put in place at RSL over the past year is very good. Just look at Lisa's and Tiffany's resume for starters

actually no, my kids are younger. We saw several of their games and we are friends with a few of the BH and Sereno parents. I found no one that liked him or could figure out why he wasn't playing his best 11. That is why his team struggled and they should have finished much higher. Lisa and Tiffany are great, but DS is a disaster and to boot, not a nice man. We chose a different club when we saw he was remaining...we had an offer for RSL, but Coaches matter so we picked a different club in the area.

You said RSL would always struggle in DA because of coaches. Lisa and Tiffany are the main coaches. Trey is the only other head coach for a DA team and that one initially was a DPL team that suddenly became DA when US Soccer changed their mind right before the season started. So if those are the coaches and you say Lisa and Tiffany are great...why then would you say earlier RSL DA will struggle because of coaching?

With decisions around keeping sub-par coaches engaged when they are clearly out of their depth and not good...would rather go somewhere else and why we did. Sounds like your daughter is doing well and you are a fan of DS. To each his own, guess you were one of the BH parents that liked him.

No sarcasm, good luck to you and your daughter.

I don't have anything against him. What I have noticed however is that by and large the people that hate him are the ones whose kids were subs. That type of sentiment is common however overall in sports. When parents complain it usually is because their kids dont start or get much time.

A number of us watched Sereno ECNL for awhile and for the most part in recent years they were not producing good teams. del Sol was easily the best option. It appears much of that was due to Sereno mainly promoting their own club players onto their ECNL teams. When they brought Shank in he made changes. I also believe much of that was due to Erwin wanting to shake things up. The team Brian had arranged would not have fared nearly as well as the team Shank had. Since then Erwin has basically cleaned house in terms of the old ECNL coaches. If I remember correctly by the end of last season there were non of the old Sereno ECNL coaches left. All had been moved out, and the likes of Lisa came in, and then by the end of the season Tiffany was hired to coach DA.

And in terms of DA, you said poor coaching would always hurt them. When I pointed out Lisa and Tiffany, you said they were great. They are the main 2 coaches for DA. They seem to be doing a good job.

Anyway have fun at Rising. They have always been a pretty good club. Now with girls ECNL they will lose less players than in years past.

How did del sol vs Rsl go today

DA is only as strong as its players. If enough impact players follow KC, then that would be the top team in the state for that age group. College coaches follow players, not clubs. Remember, many states don’t even offer a DA option. That is why D1 coaches go to both DA and ECNL venues to scout.
