ill go cooper (don't know anything about either team but trust gkdad)
teal-- a lot of ecnl players go in and out of that team (or it seems)
AYSO, this team is always pretty good

I’ll throw my 2 cents in:
    Cooper
    Soutar
    AYSO

Must note, I’m biased and chose Soutar since my kiddo is on that team. We played Teal this weekend and imo, they didn’t seem like the Teal teams from the past.

We had to do PKs against Teal to get into the semi-finals at the rising cup and we won. I mention this because I *think* they had a different GK than previous years.

Actually, I don’t want to jinx our team, I choose Teal! Hahaha ;)

    Arsenal 1 - Soutar 0

Goal game late in the 2nd half. We also didn’t play aggressively until the 2nd half. We took maybe 5 shots on goal to their 20 (slight exaggeration, of course). I felt it was a generally evenly matched game. (Again, biased b/c daughter is the GK).

Mine too. So frustrating when she’s diving all over the place and offense isn’t helping

I called Arsenal Teal, AYSO and Thunder on the predictions in the main forum. So far a good start for those three teams. Looks like a three horse race but it's early and you never know if one of these teams will drop in form and one of the other three will step up.

Quick question. Can additions or subtractions still be made to rosters? When are they “locked in”?

They are locked late oct. If you're not on a roster by then you cannot participate in state/presidents cup. They may already be locked for advanced league rosters.

Well, in the past few weeks I have been able to watch all six of these teams play. The biggest take away is how even this group is. Thunder thus far has been showing the best results (new coach and 2-3 add-ons) but on the field they are very even with the rest. With that said they are off to a great start and are only getting better. Teal does have a new goalie this year but also has a total of 5 previously ECNL rostered players and a new coach. With time this team should get better but for now seems to lack cohesiveness. AYSO looks strong as always. Looks like the same team as last year with a couple new players on defense making them just a little stronger. They seem to have a hard time getting the ball in the net but they take a ton of shots at goal, eventually those will start going in and this team will be dangerous. Cooper looks much stronger than before, with their defense being their strong point. It appeared to me there are a couple new girls on this team, not sure. With that said this team can play with any of the above teams. Soutar, very much like teal in results and play. Strong on defense but needs to improve on the offensive side. They seem to have the players that can be dangerous on offense just not firing on all cylinders yet. Finally the Aztecs (AZFC Select) is as gritty as always. If you're team under estimates them, you will lose. Overall they don't have as talented a squad as some of the above teams but they have a ton of heart and few standouts. Their goalie is not very quick but she is big and strong and will throw some bodies around. They have a couple of speedy strikers that need to be marked all game (much like every other team in this league). Overall any of these teams can beat or lose to any of the other teams on this list. No true standout yet, so the remainder of the season will be fun. Just my two cents on ASL 1 -- Cheers!!

I'm going Teal, Soutar and AYSO for 9/26 just based on my belief they are all toss ups at this point, but definitely not confident of any of the picks.

    I like your summary.

I think Cooper has a couple of girls (at least 1 for sure) that was on DA last year. They are always strong no matter what. As a parent from Soutar, I 100% agree with our offensive struggles. This weekend at the Cactus Kickoff, we scored 8 goals, so hopefully that jumps starts some offensive magic.
