Agreed. Those Arsenal kids would be looking at ECNL and/or MLS. I was at both tryouts/ID sessions for 08 Rising ECNL & MLS and there were only 2 players from Arsenal there and they weren't their best players. If Arsenal lost ECNL I would have expected much more, especially since Rising would have been the only boys team offering ECNL in the Valley.

EA is not an option for them?

I think EA is only an option for MLS Academy club.

No. They are spinning (fairly successfully apparently) the league as being affiliated with MLS Next, but it isn't. Of the 4 clubs in EA SW-Desert, neither of the UT ones have an MLS Next academy. I'd also suggest parents check out those club teams ranking on YSR to judge for themselves the relative strength of the competition they will be flying to UT to play.

    Not correct.

There are clubs in EA that are not MLS Next. There are 5-6 clubs currently in the SW division that don't have MLS Next.

As of now, there will not be league matches for EA unless more clubs join in the Southwest. Only tournaments, showcases and scrimmages.

RSL says EA aligns perfectly with MLS. But with MLS you can’t play high school and with EA you can. Also, they have different substitution rules. So not sure how they align perfectly.

They align perfectly for "sales" purposes ;)

God it sounds like a mess! No wonder there is so much player movement, year after year in youth soccer!

Any more news on this rumor? I have heard there are other clubs applying for ECNL, so this could cause a daisy chain of events. AZ Soccer never seems to have a dull moment.

Sorry but RSL ENCL is suspended not Arsenal. Its was RSL lost ECNL and not Arsenal... but I believe Arsenal doesn't have a strong boys side to get to build a "ECNL RL" team for all the age groups like they can with the girls side, has both ECNL and ECNL RL.

If the 10 boys looking for a new club its more likely they did note make the top "Pre-ECNL team. the coach is Jake Z. he is one of the best in the valley..

Any news on how Arsenal did on filling all the Girls ECRL teams? Looked like they were recruiting hard for ECNL and ECRL this off season.

I haven't heard anyone changing clubs to go to their ECRL teams. I think they pulled girls from their Teal teams. At practice this week, I heard that the 06 Arsenal ECNL girls team lost some players. A few quit soccer completely and 2 went to other clubs.

  13. I have heard of a few girls from open league teams being added to the ECRL teams. Otherwise I assume the teams will mostly be comprised of Teal team players.

For the 05s, I know one moved from ECRL to ECNL with most of the previous players staying on the ECRL team. They did get 1-2 from another club I believe.

For 04s, most were from the ECRL team last year, however, they did get a few from other clubs. There were something like 130+ players for the 03/04 age level that were at tryouts.

Heard the same thing. One of their really good players went to SC Del Sol. Good for her, but big loss for the team/ Arsenal.

Wouldn't most 04s on the ecRl team for next year come from their ecRl team of this year? Remember this is an age group that already had ecRl. So unless a ton left, they probably did not pull up a lot from their teal team at that age group.

Did not realize they had some already there. Mostly the U15 and lower are new

I believe they had 3 age groups going this year.

    2 for sure.

    - the u18/19 ecnl composite team. Next year the various composite teams will be classified as ecRl instead of ecnl composite
    - Arsenal had an 04 ecRl team
    - I believe they had an 05 ecRl team as well.

This coming year they are offering a full slate of ages. Same situation with Rising. This year they didn't offer ecRl in all age groups. Next year apparently like Arsenal they will.

Since Royals had DPL at all ages, those teams will now be classified as ecRl teams.

Yeah, that's my bad, I typed it wrong. It was supposed to say ECRL, you are correct. I will fix my original post.
