I found it unexpected that BH beat CCV. I truly thought CCV would run away from all other Arizona teams this year. Anybody see the game? The final score doesn't always tell the full story.

Congratulations to Legacy. They are doing better then expected.
I thought Arsenal and Del Sol would have been doing better.

I think the BH team is turning out to better vs what people initially thought. Both teams just played up a year in the Arsenal tournament and the BHs did better vs the older girls in comparison to CCV.

That said CCV is a very good team. I am sure any future games between the two will be tightly contested and the result could go either way. In the game they played against each other it was very close. My understanding is that a CCV player had a self goal towards the end of the game.

BHs had the better 04 and 05 teams last year than CCV on average. So not so much a surprise that they have talent even though most of the 04 BH team from last year were 03s. That team was one of the better AZ teams from AZ in a while.

The CCV team left more of their team intact with some very good players on the 04s but at this age kids grow and change. Some get better and some don't. It is really fluid. WAY too early right now to see how it will all end up.

I agree it is still rather early in the season for all the teams involved.

Appears CCV had the harder bracket in Arsenal tournament. They played two teams in common. One team they both won 2-0. Other BH loss 3-2 and CCV loss 3-1. It is too early to know how it will all end up. Although my thoughts on CCV running away with it have already been shown to be incorrect.

I certainly think as it stands now that BH team and the CCV team are the 2 to beat at that age group and I say that as someone who has a DD on another team in the APL group.

I think this will come down to BH vs CCV game that will be played on Feb 4th for APL to determine who is the better team.

Should be a good game between the 2.

Quite frankly the BHs are going to have their work cut out for them in the game before vs Arsenal. That is a team that is playing very well right now. A lot of size on that team. When they are on...they are on.

CCV and the BHs played this past Wed in the FWRL. CCV won 2-0 and looked better the whole game. That puts them in 1st with the BHs remaining in 4th. Note: As of today they still have not updated the FWRL standings to reflect the latest game.

Based on what I saw the BHs are going to have their work cut out for them if they hope to beat CCV in the APL game in Feb. CCV looked faster and generally kept the ball on the BHs side of the field during both halves.

I heard similar. A friend was very impressed with CCV, said they were well disciplined, fast, and dominated the mid-field. Only negative for CCV he had from watching the game was their finishing was a little off. Thought it should have been a CCV blowout. Seems like BH have been on a little bit of a slide after an excellent start. Be interesting to see if they can recover and compete in that February APL game.

CCV is good at the younger ages but most of the good players leave at 14 or so. Most coaches are not qualified to coach at a high level like del sol or otherw.
What CCV team are you talking about?
