Actually over the summer there was a tournament or showcase where some DA teams played ECNL teams as well. So it seems it happens...but not frequently.

ECNL teams can play DA teams but they must follow DA rules, such as 1 game a day and the substitution rules.

We watched that game, yes it was the 05 ECNL team, they played up. Arsenal had over 20 shots on goal while Thunder had maybe 1-2. Half missed and the other half were stopped by the Thunder goalie. I guess there is story of her Uncle passing away that she was close to (attended every game) and his funeral was during the game. Seems like she turned it on as she was incredible that game, folks were saying that was her best game ever.

They went into PKs tied 0-0. The Arsenal goalie had two crazy stops, but the team just could it into the net and they ultimately lost 3-2 in PKs.

None of the AZ teams brought home the hardware but the 2005 RSL team did finish 4th!

#4 nationally (in ECNL) isn't bad.

The 04 RSL team probably did better, losing the group decider to the winners. They came second in the pooled results but didn't qualify for the final, as that was group winners only.

All in all, great to have so many AZ teams there and competing.
