So this team is going from mid table ASL2 to going up against the top teams from Beach and Legends? I think I can predict what will happen there.

From what I am hearing from the RSL side there are no mass defections. The GA (DA) and DPL teams are remaining pretty much intact.

I don't think Rising is seeing nor is counting on defections. If that were the case why put the ECRL team in the west valley? If they were pulling players from RSL or SCDS they would put the ECRL team in North Valley or Scottsdale to keep the practice fields close. This is for development to see what kind of talent they can really pull from the West side only reason they base it in the west or maybe field availability

I did not say they would be highly successful against those teams. If you take a look back at their entire year, they played competitive games against a few ECNL teams in tournaments and then had head scratching losses to ASL2 teams. I would lean to not always having their full roster available at times for unknown reasons. There is a lot of talent on that team already and I am sure this will lure out some great players currently at NW/west valley clubs where either geography or money may have prevented them from looking at DA or ECNL clubs prior. For the most part anyone who has seen many of these socal clubs play can predict how most all AZ teams will fare in games. There just isn't the same technical level for most AZ players that I have seen from socal players. Being mindful of course that 99% of my attention is to the girls side of the game; I have only paid attention to the boys side when my daughter plays GK for a boys team.

ALL clubs are trying to recruit players, promoting their club's strengths, and get your $$$.

Ponder this..... With California DII cancelling all fall sports, and the state being in a huge lockdown that does not seem to be ending anytime soon, who are the AZ SW ECNL teams going to play if they can't travel to California?

RSL-AZ managed to keep their DA fees lower than SCDS because they received additional subsidies from their affiliation with Real Salt Lake. SCDS' travel model was also more expensive than RSL-AZ's.

It's not really clear whether the CCAA's decision to cancel fall sports competition has any bearing on youth soccer. Everyone appears to be on a different page with regards to a return to sports competition. Even the NCAA announced that they will not enforce a uniform return date. The Man City Cup was rescheduled for Labor Day weekend and so far, it hasn't been cancelled.

Wouldn't it be great to see ECNL teams and former GDA, now GA teams head to head on the field, for the time being. The girls would love it. Great opportunity to showcase AZ talent, at least to the locals. Put aside letter league and parent silliness and petulance - let them play. Wishful thinking though. I'm sure someone, somewhere would feel threatened.

Yea.. im sure. There is only one true elite league and all the others are heretics, sent to convince parents their talented kids are talented but unless they wear the magic patch.. they cannot be considered elite. Or so I have been told.

It would be nice to do a round robin at each age group for the 4 clubs in the Valley who are ECNL or GA.

And provide a great opportunity for AZ college coaches (from CC through D1) to look at homegrown talent. Kinda cool to keep talent in-state.
I'd sign up for that. Also an opportunity for AZ college coaches, CC through D1, to view and have unfettered access. I know there are other opportunities throughout the year. It would be nice for them have access without competing schools looking over their shoulder. Maybe more homegrown talent will stay home.
