ODP is dying. With newer and more advanced leagues springing up, ODP is becoming more and more irrelevant. We will see more and more academies tied to various professional and semi-professional teams. ODP served a good purpose, but it can't compete with the trend that is developing in youth soccer.

College questionnaires/recruiting forms still ask if the player made their state ODP team.

Both of the DA clubs in the valley had coaches scouting the ODP games each day. ECNL club coaches were watching the games too. ODP isn’t close to dying yet.

I agree. I saw a ton of clipboards and folding chairs sitting in the corners of fields throughout the tournament.

The DA/ECNL clubs will certainly be looking at the very youngest ages. Those are the ages they need to fill their roster spots.

And to upgrade their older teams.

By and large there isnt a lot of change going on at the older ages. Notwithstanding what happened with del Sol 04 which saw many of their players move to 04 ECNL.

At most at the older ages, they are filling in around the edges. The real fight is at the younger ages where they are trying to create new teams and all the DA/ECNL are fighting for the same top players.
